Refund policy
Effective date: September 1, 2026
Last updated: August 29, 2026
This Returns and Refunds Policy applies to orders placed through maplsoda.ca. Mapl Soda is operated by Boissons Mapl Inc. (βMapl,β βwe,β βus,β or βourβ).
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory warranty, cancellation right, remedy, or other protection available under applicable law.
1. Food and Beverage Products
Because Mapl products are consumable food and beverage products, all sales are final for change of mind, personal preference, taste preference, or an ordering mistake once fulfilment has begun. We do not accept a return merely because a product has been opened or because the customer no longer wants it.
We will, however, review and resolve eligible claims involving:
- products that arrive damaged, leaking, spoiled, unsafe, or otherwise defective;
- missing cans or items;
- an incorrect product or quantity sent by Mapl; or
- another problem for which a remedy is required by law.
2. Reporting a Problem
For damage, leakage, missing items, or an incorrect order that is visible on delivery, please contact mapl.sodabusiness@gmail.com within 7 calendar days after delivery. Prompt notice helps us preserve evidence and meet carrier claim deadlines.
The seven-day request does not eliminate rights relating to a hidden defect, food-safety concern, legal warranty, recall, or another mandatory remedy that cannot reasonably be identified within that period. Contact us promptly after discovering such a problem.
If a package is delayed, lost in transit, or marked delivered but cannot be found, follow the steps in our separate Shipping and Delivery Policy.
3. Information Needed for a Claim
Please include, where reasonably available:
- the order number and purchaser's name;
- a description of the problem and the affected products;
- clear photographs of the affected product, all cans received, shipping box, internal packaging, and shipping label; and
- for a quality or food-safety concern, the lot code and best-before information printed on the product.
Keep the affected product and all packaging until we confirm they are no longer needed. We may request reasonable additional information to assess the claim, meet food-safety obligations, or support a carrier or insurance claim.
We will not deny a valid claim solely because particular evidence is unavailable or it would be unreasonable or unsafe to obtain it. Never consume a product that appears unsafe, swollen, leaking, contaminated, or otherwise compromised.
4. Review and Available Resolutions
We review each claim using the order record, information supplied, product condition, carrier findings where relevant, and the customer's legal rights. We may offer one or more of the following, as appropriate:
- a full or partial refund to the original payment method;
- a replacement of the affected product or order; or
- store credit, but only with the customer's agreement.
Our usual approach is to issue a refund for the affected product when that is the most proportionate and economical resolution. A replacement may be offered when it is practical and the customer prefers it. The remedy required by applicable law will always take priority.
Approved refunds are initiated within 5 business days after approval. The customer's bank or payment provider may require additional time to post the credit. Original delivery charges are refunded when required by law or when the approved claim affects the entire order; otherwise, a refund may be limited to the affected products.
5. Returns and Disposal
Do not mail or deliver a product back to Mapl unless we first authorize the return and provide instructions. Food-safety and carrier investigations can require particular handling.
If we require an eligible defective, damaged, unsafe, or incorrect product to be returned, Mapl will provide or reimburse the reasonable authorized return method. We may instead instruct the customer to dispose of the product safely after the necessary evidence has been collected.
Unauthorized returns, collect-on-delivery shipments, and returns sent to an address other than the authorized return address may be refused.
6. Items Not Eligible for a Voluntary Return or Refund
Except where required by law, we do not provide a return or refund for:
- change of mind or personal taste preference;
- an incorrect flavour, pack, quantity, address, or subscription selection entered by the customer;
- normal minor variations in colour, flavour, or appearance that do not make the product defective or unsafe;
- products damaged by improper storage, freezing, overheating, misuse, or handling after delivery; or
- a claim that cannot reasonably be verified after the product and packaging have been discarded, unless requiring that evidence would be unreasonable or would defeat a mandatory legal right.
Customer-caused address and redelivery costs are addressed in the Shipping and Delivery Policy.
7. Subscription Orders
Once a recurring order has been processed, it is treated like any other completed order under this policy. Cancelling or changing a subscription does not automatically cancel an order that has already been processed. Subscription cancellation and renewal terms are stated separately when the subscription is created and in our Subscription Policy.
8. Recalls and Food-Safety Concerns
If Mapl or a regulatory authority announces a recall or safety instruction, follow the notice provided even if it differs from the ordinary claim process above. Contact us immediately if you believe a product poses a health or safety risk.
